What I’m watching/reading/listening to: The OA. How do you describe a strange show like this…with misfit characters reminescent of the Breakfast Club on steroids and a beautifully melancholic feel of being lost and found then lost again…hmm…
(FWIW, I just finished binging on the show without knowing anything about it or even watching any commercials. Now that I’ve watched the trailer, I think not knowing anything made for a much better experience.)
Recently affected by: In College and Hiding From Scary Ideas…I do wonder what happens to future generations of our educated elite who don’t experience the necessary life-skill of developing a thick skin from listening to opposing views?
Weekly bits: What’s the Best Way to Die? Yes, it might not be your idea of a fun read, but it’s a good read and fits in with binge-watching The OA.
Quote o’ the week: The sort of life that I had had previous to this popular success was one that required endurance, a life of clawing and scratching along a sheer surface and holding on tight with raw fingers to every inch of rock higher than the one caught hold of before, but it was a good life because it was the sort of life for which the human organism is created. -Tennessee Williams
Song o’ the week: Nils Frahm & Anne Müller – Let My Key Be C. I’m engrossed with the OA, so this week’s song is also from that show.
